Uva Hoodie Scarf PDF english version
Description
Uva Hoodie Scarf is a stylish, chunky rib-knit scarf with an attached hoodie that fits all head sizes. The scarf begins with the right tie. On this part of the scarf, increases are made on each side to widen the scarf gradually. The right tie of the scarf should be shorter than the left tie, as the right tie is only for securing the scarf. The left tie needs to wrap around the neck.
When you reach the point where stitches for the hoodie will later be picked up, increase by 1 stitch and place 2 stitches (intended for the edge band after the hoodie is completed) on hold, then continue knitting the part of the scarf that runs along the back of the neck.
When the scarf length from where 1 stitch was increased and 2 stitches were set aside matches the width of the hoodie, place the scarf stitches on hold and pick up stitches for the hoodie. Then, knit the hoodie.
When the hoodie reaches its proper height, the crown of the hoodie is shaped by decreasing. Divide the hoodie into a center section and two side sections. Only work over the stitches of the center section while decreasing 1 stitch at the end of every row by knitting 1 stitch from the center section together with 1 stitch from the side section at each end. To finish the hoodie, you must knit 3 stitches together at the end of every row - 2 stitches from the side sections together with 1 stitch from the center section.
Once the crown is closed, pick up stitches along the left edge of the hoodie. Then, using a new ball of yarn, pick up stitches along the right edge with the short yarn tail. The two stitches from the scarf that were held are now used again to knit a small edge band around the hoodie.
When the edge band is complete, the 2 stitches are reintroduced back into the scarf, and the increased stitch from the scarf part running along the neck is decreased before knitting the left tie. The left tie should be longer than the right tie, as it needs to wrap around the neck. To finish, gradually taper the scarf by decreasing stitches on each side.
The pattern includes video links for all techniques.
The pattern suggests using the Italian cast-on and bind-off for a premium finish, but standard long-tail cast-on and traditional bind-off techniques are also acceptable. If you use these standard techniques, stabilization rows are not required.

Materials
250 g of Ballerina Chunky Mohair, 135 m/50 g, from Sandnes Yarn, or 300 g of Fluffy Mohair, 200 m/100 g, from Cowgirl Blues, or Fat Mohair from brands like Sysleriget or Siesto Fibres. Use two strands.
Alternatively, use leftover silk mohair with a yardage of approximately 212 m/25 g. Knit with 6–8 strands, depending on how chunky you want your hoodie scarf. You’ll need 200–300 g, depending on the number of strands. Another option is to combine one chunky mohair strand with 3–4 strands of leftover silk mohair. Feel free to choose other yarns if the gauge is met.
The model in the photo is knitted with two strands of Ballerina Chunky Mohair from Sandnes Yarn in Dark Olive 9738.
