Fungus Sweater V-Neck PDF english version
Description
Fungus Sweater V-Neck is a feminine oversize drop-shoulder sweater with added sleeves and a wide ribbed band around the neck and down the V-neck. The sweater has a beautiful Moss stitch pattern doubled in height.
You will start this sweater by knitting a ribbed neckband. After knitting this neckband, you will pick up stitches for the yoke in this neckband and then knit the yoke and the rest of the band together. The sweater is knitted back and forth until the armhole of the sleeves has the correct length, and you will gather your work and then knit in the round.
The sweater is knitted top down, which makes it easy to adjust the length of the body and sleeves.
When wearing the sweater pull the shoulder stitches so that they will appear on the back piece and not on top of the shoulder – this gives the most elegant fit.
Sizes
XS (S) M (L) XL (2XL) 3XL
Finished measurements
Bust measurement: 125 (132) 138 (144) 150 (155) 161 cm.
Sleeve length measured from where the sleeve is added: 32 (34) 35 (36) 37 (37) 37 cm.
Body length measured center back including the neckband: approx. 63 (66) 69 (72) 74 (75) 76 cm.
The sweater is meant to have a positive ease on 15-40 cm - size down for a less oversized look.
The model in the picture has a bust measurement of approximately 84 cm and is wearing a size XS with about 41 cm of ease.
The recommendation is to aim for a larger amount of ease in smaller sizes and a smaller amount in larger sizes.
Materials
225/250 (250) 250 (275/300) 300 (325/350) 350 g of Soft Silk Mohair from Knitting for Olive 225 m/25 g or another similar Silk Mohair quality held double. If you choose to knit your sweater in two different colors held together as I did, you will have to select the biggest amount of yarn mentioned in your size.
The sweater is knitted up in two strands of Soft Silk Mohair from Knitting for Olive in color Mushroom Rose, and Powder held together.
You will also need 6 stitch markers knitting this sweater – 2 stitch markers will need to be able to open as a safety pin.
Needles
The sweater is knitted in Moss stitch doubled in height - to begin with back and forth later in the round on circular needle 80-100 cm, 4 mm using two strands of Soft Silk Mohair.
Use double-pointed needles 3.5 mm for the neckband - you will need 3.
I also recommend using 2 circular needles 4 mm – then, when having to let stitches rest, you can leave these stitches on your needle while knitting with the other one. But it will also work by letting your stitches rest on a thread or a wire for stitches.
Gauge
18 sts x 26 rows = 10 x 10 cm on needle size 4 in Moss stitch doubled in height.
